I’ve been trying to think of different ways to use my newborn props recently. So rather than just placing baby sweetly in one of my baskets I decided to make it into a snuggly little bed – this was the first time I’d tried it out and it worked so well I’ve used it many times since. Freya was so comfortable asleep in her makeshift bed, I felt terrible when I had to take her out for a set change. Still, she slept like a champ throughout her newborn session, stopping occasionally for milk of course, and when she was awake she was so incredibly alert and calm – the image of her staring at me through her cot bars is one of my favourites from this little lady’s photo shoot.
Freya’s home is beautiful, all of my favourite tones of soft neutral, earth shades with stunning furniture, so it was fantastic for me to be able to use this family’s home environment as a backdrop – not once did I get my backdrop stand out. Thanks to lovely mum and dad for having me photography your precious baby girl x
