Cake Smash 1st birthday Photography, Hereford child photographer

Pretty much anyone I’ve spoken to in the last three months will have been subjected to my excited ramblings about my first official cake smash photo shoots. I was quite surprised to learn that very few knew what a cake smash was. Well, here my lovelies, in all its fabulous glory, is a cake smash I did with my very own little cherub to celebrate her first birthday. We went for a vintage, eclectic theme and thankfully the weather blessed us with a warm morning so we got to eat al-fresco!

There was cake. There was smashing. And bashing. There was mess. There was a guest of honour in the form of her best friend Indy who obligingly licked up said mess. There were tears when Indy had to leave and there was a lovely warm bubble bath in the garden afterwards. What more could a gal ask for for her first birthday?

Cake and cake-bunting by… me! Who’d have thunk it, ‘eh? Oh OK, so I bought the cakes and layered them but I did decorate them (threw berries and icing sugar at them). And I DID make the cake-bunting. Very proud of myself, felt very domestic goddess-like. Doesn’t happen often these days.

So, Helen Catton Photography is now officially taking Cake Smash bookings. Each session will be individually planned and styled to ensure, as always, your images are unique and that bit more special. It’s a special time after all…

Let them eat cake! Yay!

I’m taking cake smash bookings in Hereford from 2016 – let the smashing and smooshing of cakes commence!
